Notes

  •  1: The League was played in a cup format known as Svenska Mästerskapet from 1896 to 1925.
  •  2: The Svenska Serien was the top league in Swedish football. Although it was the top league, the champions were considered to be the winners of the Svenska Mästerskapet.
  •  3: A league format known as the Allsvenskan was started in 1924. Although the winners from 1925 to 1930 were considered unofficial.
  •  4: The Allsvenskan was considered official from 1931 onwards.
  •  5: A cup competition known as the Svenska Cupen was introduced for 1941.
  •  6: From 1982 to 1990, the title was given to the winners of a play-off, held after the Allsvenskan had finished.
  •  7: The Mästerskapsserien was a mini league played after the Allsvenskan season had finished. It involved the top six teams from Allsvenskan.
  •  8: In 2012 the Svenska Cupen reverted to an autumn/spring format, so there was no winner in 2012. Consequently the group and knockout stages began in 2013, with the final played in May.

Research

I've cross referenced as much as possible and added links to the new club website where possible. Many thanks goes to the RSSSF Archive, which was an invaluable source of information whenever an insolvable fact was needed. If you need to find a football answer, it will be on there somewhere.
